Weddings and celebrations

We believe that what we offer at Treberfydd is truly special: the use of our historic home in a stunning country setting, and the flexibility to organise your wedding however you wish.

Located in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, we overlook Llangorse lake, with breathtaking views across to the Black Mountains, and 10 acres of peaceful gardens: ideal for wedding photographs.

Our Victorian, Grade 1-listed house is licensed for wedding ceremonies, so you can choose to be married in the billiards room or conservatory; alternatively, St Gastyn’s, an ancient church on the shores of the lake, is a short walk away.

Treberfydd itself can sleep up to 10 guests on a B&B basis, and we have four self-catering properties nearby on the estate: the Barn (sleeps 8), the Saddlery (sleeps 6), Hafod Y Llyn (sleeps 4) and Molly’s Wagon (sleeps 2), so we can accommodate a total of 30 guests. With use of the house and grounds for the weekend, you are welcome to host a barbecue or drinks in the gardens the night before the wedding, and/or the following day, or sit down to a small catered meal in the dining room.

Because we only host a limited number of weddings per year, each one is different, and how you’d like to celebrate is entirely up to you. Whether it’s a small family gathering or a large-scale event with a marquee, an informal buffet or a three-course meal, you are free to create your own mood, style and schedule. We can recommend caterers and other suppliers (but you are free to choose your own), and we don’t charge corkage.

For summer 2026 and 2027, we are offering a marquee package for weddings held in June and July that includes venue hire, a stunning handmade marquee by Bespoke Tents, shepherd’s hut-style luxury toilets and all our accommodation for Friday and Saturday night.

In May and September, you are welcome to book Treberfydd and hire your own marquee. For this option, we charge venue hire and two nights’ B&B at Treberfydd (the self-catering properties can be booked separately).

The house is also available for intimate weddings (from 2 to 40 guests) throughout the year, with the exception of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

We welcome enquiries for 2026 and 2027 - please contact us via our wedding enquiry form for more information.

“Incredible venue with beautiful gardens and amazing accommodation (breakfast in the house was also a highlight!). Sally and Hugh were fantastic, laid back and always on hand to help with everything we needed. They allowed us to take charge and do things how we wanted, allowing us to have the perfect wedding!”
Dom and Kesh, May 2025

“It is difficult to put into words just how special Treberfydd House is. We felt so welcome from our very first visit. Sally and Hugh were so warm, personable and accommodating throughout. It truly was the most magical setting for our wedding. We were able to have our ceremony outside on the gorgeous lawn and enjoy the stunning grounds and surrounding area of Llangorse and Allt yr Esgair with our guests over the weekend. The marquee (hand-built by Roland, at Bespoke Tents) was idyllic, and provided the perfect setting for the meal, music and dancing.
It is great to have the flexibility of organising your own catering, drinks, and music, and the greatest thing of all was being able to enjoy the venue for the whole weekend, so you can truly relax and enjoy the most special weekend of your life with close family and friends.
Sally and Hugh were incredible hosts and made us feel at home for the most memorable wedding weekend. We cannot thank them, or recommend Treberfydd House highly enough, and cannot wait to return!”
Ellie and Joe, June 2024

“I cannot imagine getting married anywhere else - Treberfydd is the most stunning house and has such a lovely feel to it. The whole experience was relaxed and nothing was a problem. Sally and Hugh did an amazing job making sure our day was perfect and Roland made the most beautiful canopy - we were really blown away. Thank you all so much, we cannot recommend Treberfydd enough!”
Alice and Lewys, June 2024

“We had our son’s wedding at Treberfydd and it was the most amazing experience. As it was a fusion wedding with western and eastern traditions, the logistics were more complex. However, Sally, Roland (of Bespoke Tents) and their teams made the day so special. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting is stunning, the grounds were beautiful and we had the added touch of the children being able to feed the newly born lambs - just magical! The western ceremony was held at the front of the house and the eastern ceremony at the back. We highly recommend Treberfydd if you are looking for a memorable day!”
Varsha Mistry, June 2024

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything - what an incredible weekend. The entire family loved every room we stayed in, and all of the others who came on the day commented on how beautiful the house and the gardens were. We wouldn’t have changed a thing and wish we could do it all over again! The catered breakfasts in the dining room made it all the more special - your children were so polite and attentive, and the dogs so sweet in de-stressing a stressed bride! Molly’s Wagon was so romantic and I know we will be back to stay before you know it. We couldn’t have dreamt of a more magical venue, so thank you for sharing it with us.”
Harriet and Will, September 2023

“A big thank you for all your help with planning our wedding and being so accommodating. From letting us set up the marquee early in the week to sourcing plant pots, liaising with suppliers and making gorgeous breakfasts, we truly couldn’t have wished for a better venue. We both feel so lucky to have found you - it was the easiest decision of the wedding!”
Megan and Mikey, May 2023

“Treberfydd House and grounds were the most perfect setting for our dream wedding, and Sally made things so comfortable and easy from the start. We felt we had so much support from you all, and our guests could not believe the venue we’d found. We can't wait to visit for years to come - this will always be a special place for us. Thanks for everything.”
Elliot and Hannah, May 2023

”It is hard to describe how perfect our intimate wedding at Treberfydd was. The stunning setting, grounds and house, especially the beautiful conservatory where we had our ceremony, all contributed to making it so special. But what made the biggest difference is that this is a family home, not a commercial wedding venue. We felt so relaxed on the day because of the warm welcome we received. Sally, her family and the team were so accommodating and put so much care and thought into everything they do, which allowed us to have such a happy, peaceful, meaningful day. We have the fondest memories, and wouldn't change a thing. Thank you so much!"
Jenny and Jamie, February 2023

Treberfydd House was the most beautiful venue we could have chosen for our wedding, and Sally and David were extremely helpful in providing a list of local and reliable suppliers. It was the most incredible and relaxed weekend in the Welsh countryside. We can't wait to return for our anniversary and to stay in the newly renovated circus wagon!”
Leila and Tom, June 2022

"Treberfydd was the perfect place for our wedding. Being a private house instead of a full-time wedding venue made it so much more personal and unique for us. Thank you to the Raikes for allowing us to celebrate our special day in your lovely home.”
Arthur and Charlotte, April 2022

“Our wedding was the most perfect day, and we couldn’t be more grateful to Sally and her family. Nothing was too much trouble, they were super flexible with the unpredictable Welsh weather and it truly was a beautiful weekend.”
